Jennifer Cobb serves as the director for United for News, a joint venture between Internews and the World Economic Forum. United for News is a global, multi stakeholder coalition of private sector organizations and NGOs committed to supporting and sustaining independent media in their transition to digital platforms. The organization is pursuing targeted, market-based solutions with the potential for systemic change. She also serves as the Vice President of Strategic Outreach for Internews.
Cobb brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic marketing, communications and partnership development, both in the public and private sectors, to her work with Internews. Prior to coming to the organization, she served as a strategic planning and marketing consultant and team member for start-up, nonprofit and corporate organizations. In addition to her work with a series of venture-backed technology companies, her corporate clients have included BEA, Sybase, IDG, Lotus Development and Hewlett-Packard. She has a passion for technology that advances social good and published a book about the evolution of technology in 1998, “Cybergrace: The Search for God in the Digital World”. She attended Amherst College and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s in ethics from Union Theological Seminary.
