Dr Ahmed Ousmane Bagre is a professor and researcher at International Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering (2iE Foundation). He is currently Director of Programs and Head of Electrical and Energetic Engineering department of 2iE. His current research interests include power system and renewable energy technology.
He received his first master’s degree in Electromechanical Engineering from National School of Engineering in Bamako, Mali, the second master’s degree in Refrigeration systems and air conditioning from the French Institute of Industrial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning in Paris, France and a PhD in System Engineering from University of Le Havre, France.
Before joining 2iE, Bagre acted as electrical engineer and technical director with African Electricity Company, a French company based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, for over seven years. He then held the position of Industrial Technology Advisor in charge of industrial maintenance at a UNIDO/UNDP project in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
In the field of vocational and technical training, Bagre has been engaged in setting up and running many programs at 2iE and with other universities such as Kwame N’Krumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana and Polytechnic university of Bobo Dioulasso in Burkina Faso.
