Anna Zucchetti is a biologist specializing in environmental management, planning, and project management. She has been working during the past 14 years in applied projects, consultancy and training on socio-environmental issues, in urban environmental planning, and in environmental management and education, both within the private and the non-governmental sector, in Europe and Latin America. She worked as a volunteer for seven years for the British International Cooperation for Development (ICD), as general manager of an environmental services entreprise (ECOLAB S.R.Lta.), and as Project Director at the Oficina de Asesoría y Consultoría Ambiental (OACA). She is currently Executive Director of the GEA Group (Group for Environmental Enterprises), in Perú. Ms. Zuchetti has been director of international projects such as ECORIESGO (Comparative Environmental Health Risk Assessment in Lima, 1996-97) and the C3 component of the SENREM project (Sustainable Environmental Resource Management, 1998-2000), funded by USAID; the Rimac Watershed Program (2000-2003), with UK-based Christian Aid; the Environmental Impact Assessment Management System, with CONTRADROGAS/WINROCK/USAID; the Environmental Management System Program of the Finance Development Corporation (COFIDE, 1998-99), funded by IDB; and the Global Environment Outlook Project (GEO, 2003-2004), with UNEP. Ms. Zuchetti is a member of the AVINA leaders´ network and was awarded the ASHOKA Fellowship as social entrepreneur in the year 2000. She has recently been selected to integrate the world network of 100 best social entrepreneurs, promoted by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship.
