The Moriah Fund is a private foundation funding international and domestic programs to promote pluralism, democracy, and human rights, help disadvantaged people gain self-sufficiency, advance women’s rights and reproductive health, and promote sustainable development while protecting the environment. Ms. Stein is currently Chair of the Board of Advocates for Justice & Education, a D.C. advocacy organization that helps parents of special needs children obtain appropriate educational services. Ms. Stein sits on the boards of Americans for Peace Now and the New Israel Fund (NIF) and served as co-president and president respectively. She represents The Moriah Fund on the International Human Rights Funders Group and is co-founder of the new Fund for Global Human Rights. A graduate of Wellesley College and George Washington University Law Center, Ms. Stein has chaired several committees, coalitions, and mayoral advisory commissions on family and children’s issues. She served on the D.C. Judicial Nominations Commission and has written and published papers on public assistance and child welfare.
