Moses Zulu is the Director of Children’s Town in Zambia. Children’s Town is a school, skills-training center, and home to over 300 former street children, AIDS orphans and at-risk children from the surrounding community, aged 9-21. All children participate in running the town through a rigorous program in which they learn how to produce food, raise farm animals, maintain buildings and surroundings, and run a general store. In 1991, Mr. Zulu became responsible for the administration of Children’s Town. After two years, Mr. Zulu became an educator in Business Administration while continuing to administer Children’s Town. In 1998, he was promoted to Director and has overseen the expansion of the project into the surrounding communities to reach an additional 1,000 children through the Orphan Outreach program. Children’s Town has been a grantee partner of the Global Fund for Children since 1999.
