Shahnaz Wazir-Ali is the Executive Director of the Pakistan Center for Philanthropy (PCP), in Islamabad, Pakistan. PCP’s main programs include the promotion of corporate and diaspora philanthropy, professionalizing grant making, undertaking research and increasing the effectiveness of grantseekers. Ms. Wazir-Ali is currently leading a significant national effort for the reform of the legal, fiscal and institutional systems that govern the NGO sector. Previously, she served for three years as the Senior Education Specialist in the SAP Multi-Donor Technical Support Unit, which was administered by the World Bank and worked very closely with provincial governments on SAP. She has served in key positions in government, as member of the National Assembly and Ministry of State for Education in the Federal Government, and subsequently, as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Sectors. Ms. Wazir Ali holds a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Arkansas, USA and also a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Trenton College, New Jersey, USA.
