SUZY ANTOUNIAN has over 20 years of nonprofit management experience, with a focus on strategic planning, program design, institutional development, partnership building and operations. Prior to becoming World Affairs’ COO in 2014, she was Senior Vice President overseeing the Global Philanthropy Forum and its regional affiliates. She also held the position of Vice President for Public Programs at World Affairs for 3 years, overseeing the more than 150 annual programs, its annual conference and weekly NPR program.
Prior to joining World Affairs, she helped establish the American University of Armenia as Vice President, Dean of University Extension and Director of Policy and Planning. She oversaw the University’s grants, helped establish an LLM program and a legal resource center, begun a Speakers’ Forum and established the University’s fee based adult training programs. In 1998 -1999, she served as Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia where she helped establish a diplomat training program for the Ministry’s young diplomats at the Fletcher School of Diplomacy. As a consultant she provided advisory services to clients that included the Aspen Institute and The Elders. Prior to joining the nonprofit sector she was a tax associate with Ernst and Whinney and Howard, Rice et al.
She currently serves on the boards of the American University of Armenia Corporation and the King Beaudoin Foundation, U.S. She holds a J.D. from UC Hastings College of the Law and a B.A. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She is a member of the California Bar.
