W. Bowman Cutter was Deputy Assistant for Economic Policy and served on the National Economic Council in the Clinton Administration before he joined Warburg Pincus in 1996. Previously, he was Executive Associate Director for Budget at the Office of Management and Budget during the Carter Administration. He also was a partner with Coopers & Lybrand, where he was Vice Chairman of Strategy, a member of the firm council, and Managing Partner of the firm’s Strategic Services group. A graduate of Harvard University, he also received a master’s degree in Economics and Public Policy from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and a BLitt in Economics from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He is Vice Chairman of the board of CARE, the world’s largest nonprofit economic development organization and Chairman of MicroVest, an investment fund for micro-finance. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations; the board of directors for Resources for the Future, an economic research institution focused on energy and the environment; and the Wildcat Services Corporation, an education foundation.
